TONY ZORZI (guitarist) is a graduate of the Humber College Music program, and in the years since, has become one of Toronto’s busiest guitarists. He has recorded three albums as a member of the Toronto jazz and rock fusion group, Five After Four, which were featured performers at the 1997 IAJE Convention in Chicago.
Zorzi has played in pit bands at Toronto’s Royal Alexandra Theatre and the O’Keefe Centre, working in hit shows including The Who’s Tommy, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Crazy for You. He has backed entertainment notables including Vera Lynn, Gene Pitney, Bob Hope, and Quebec recording star Diane Tell, and recorded for numerous CBC Radio and TV productions. Skilled in all styles of playing, and well-versed in the use of current technology, he is been a first call musician for commercial recording work for many years.
Tony Zorzi is currently (2008) on the faculty of Humber College instructing in Guitar and Ensemble Performance.
He was a member of the Bob DeAngelis Jazz Band when they performed in concert during the “Sound of Toronto Jazz” Series at the Ontario Science Centre on December 20, 1986.
